JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - An earthquake shook two different regions in Indonesia, Sunday (09/11/2011) this. First, an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale shook East region at 08:09:11 local time and second, an earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude rocked the Talaud Islands at 09:58:59 local time.
USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) on Sunday said the quake at magnitude 4.6 SR East region centered on the location of south latitude 10.422 and 123.908 east longitude with a depth of 20.6 km.
East a distance of the epicenter 45 km southeast of Kupang, 275 km southwest of Dili, Timor Leste; 303 miles southeast Ende; and 798 km northwest of Darwin, Australia.
Meanwhile, the earthquake that rocked centered at 3.524 Talaud Islands north latitude and 126.845 east longitude with a depth of 71.8 km.
Distance epicenter Talaud Islands 308 miles north of Ternate, Moluccas; 314 km northeast of Manado, North Sulawesi; 947 miles southwest of Koror, Palau, and 1384 miles southeast of Manila, Philippines.
