No Ba in Senegal squad

Newcastle striker Demba Ba was among the high-profile players left out of Senegal's squad for their upcoming friendly against South Africa.
Ba joined Fenerbahce forward Moussa Sow and Marseille's attacker Mamadou Niang on the sidelines as Senegal took a youthful approach for the February 29 clash in Durban.
After Senegal's horrific 2012 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, in which they crashed out of the group stage after losing all three matches, interim coaches Karim Sega Diouf and Aliou Cisse named a much-changed squad.
The Senegalese Football Federation said that the likes of Ba had not been axed from the team, but that they wanted to take the opportunity to promote 12 players from the country's Under-23 squad.
Only nine players who travelled to the Africa Cup of Nations under then-manager Amara Troare have been retained.
Senegal Squad:
Goalkeepers: Bouna Coundoul, Khadim Ndiaye
Defenders: Abdoulaye Ba, Jacques Faty, Papa Gueye, Kader Mangane, Cheikh Mbengue Pape, Ndiaye Souare, Matar Thioune, Zarco Toure
Midfielders: Stephane Badji, Mouhamed Diame, Ricardo Faty, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Cheikh Kouyate, Ndiaye Deme Ndiaye
Forwards: Ibrahima Balde, Papiss Demba Cisse, Boubacar Dialiba Diabang, Mame Biram Diouf, Moussa Konate, Dame Ndoye
