Supporters Kick Maradona

Al Wasl coach, Diego Maradona, kicking the hand of a supporter, before the second round match against Etisalat Emirates Cup Club on Thursday (22/09/2011).

The incident began with a number of supporters of the action lifting a banner that is placed on the field fence and the stands. The banner contains a message from the couple's grandson Giannina Maradona and Sergio Aguero, Benjamin.

From the video footage circulating on YouTube, Maradona looked like their pictures taken with the banner as a backdrop. Before you take pictures, he asked them to stop lifting up the banner. Seeing the fans did not heed his warning, Maradona kicked his left leg into the hand of a supporter who raised up the banner.

"As a surprise from my daughters in Argentina and Manchester, they put up banners for me in the field that says, 'Grandpa, I'm with you. I love you. Benja'. I apologize to one of the fans. I tried it and saw a banner all the parts and, because of mistake, I might hurt him, "Maradona said.

The game ended 3-0 for Al Wasl. This is the first victory since Al Wasl handled Maradona, last May.
