Michael Owen: I Will Not Reject Calls Fabio Capello Fabio Capello believes Michael Owen will return to monitor the game. Michael Owen, Manchester United striker, saying he would not refuse the call back to England, though still hurt over the treatment of coach Fabio Capello.
"I was in the England squad for nearly a decade, suddenly dicampakan just like that," said Owen told the Observer.
"Capello has set the core team, and I sat on the bench. I think it's any sign that he does not like me. Next, I am no longer in the squad," continued Owen.
Since Capello deal with Britain in 2008, Owen appeared only once. That, too, as a substitute when England play France. As England face Italy, Owen lost his place.
A series of injuries, and did not perform regular with Manchester United, making his chances again dressed as the Three Lions almost vanished. Owen had said it was difficult for her return to international action.
According to Owen, Capello has only twice in two years saw it playing, when in Newcastle. Both occurred at the Emirates Stadium, or when the Magpies face Arsenal.
"Arsenal are one of the best teams in England. Any striker who played at the Emirates would not get much chance to touch the ball," recalls Owen.
"I feel a little sorry for myself why I was monitored while playing at the Emirates," said former Liverpool player.
Owen is now 31 years old. He has 89 caps for England, scoring 40 goals for his country. He showed his class as Manchester United beat Leeds United three goals without reply in the League Cup.
