Striker Nicolas Anelka seems to have no longer comfortable with Chelsea. Reportedly, the French player wants to leave the Blues.
Anelka wants to leave Chelsea in the transfer market this summer. Contract with Chelsea still leaves him one more season.
Chelsea's manager, Andre Villas-Boas, said that foster children may not want to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge. "Yes, there is a possibility (leaving Chelsea)," Villas-Boas said as quoted by ESPN.
In fact, Chelsea's management still need to employ 32-year-old players. However, Anelka chose another path.
"Maybe there is no hope to extend. We'll keep working on making Anelka would extend his contract. However, Anelka has made his decision, and I'm not sure he would be willing (to extend the contract)," says Villas-Boas.
Anelka joined Chelsea since 2008. With Chelsea, he has featured as many as 119 times at various competitions and has contributed 49 goals.
Then, what about the future of striker Didier Drogba, whose term of contract will also expire at the end of this season. Villas-Boas emphatically do not want to reveal the future of Drogba to the public for a while.
"I do not want to share with you, then you will be speculating for one season," said Villas Boas. (art)
